Install
Requirements
- .NET 10 SDK — the SDK, not only the runtime: Studio and the CLI compile your game's C# scripts.
- A GPU and driver with Vulkan 1.3 support.
Games you export are self-contained: players need neither .NET nor the SDK.

Windows
Run Turian-<version>-win-x64-setup.exe. The installer:
- installs for the current user into
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Turianand needs no administrator rights; - adds that folder to your user
PATH, soturian-studioandturian-cliwork from any new terminal; - adds Turian Studio to the Start menu;
- warns (without stopping) when the .NET 10 SDK is missing.
Uninstall it from Settings → Apps; the PATH entry is removed too.
Prefer no installer? Extract Turian-<version>-win-x64.zip anywhere and add the folder to your PATH.
Linux
Debian and Ubuntu — install the three packages together:
sudo apt install ./turian-common_<version>_amd64.deb \
./turian-cli_<version>_amd64.deb \
./turian-studio_<version>_amd64.deb
This puts turian-cli and turian-studio in /usr/bin, the engine in /usr/lib/turian, and Turian Studio in
your desktop's application menu. apt pulls in the .NET 10 SDK as a dependency.
Other distributions — extract Turian-<version>-linux-x64.zip and add the folder to your PATH:
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/turian
unzip Turian-<version>-linux-x64.zip -d ~/.local/share/turian
export PATH="$HOME/.local/share/turian:$PATH" # add this line to your shell profile
Check the installation
turian-cli --version
turian-cli new MyGame
turian-studio --project MyGame

An export targets the platform it runs on: export on Windows for Windows players, on Linux for Linux players.
Container image
For CI/CD, the CLI is also published as a container image that includes the .NET SDK and a software Vulkan driver:
podman run --rm -v "$PWD:/work" -w /work ghcr.io/mass4org/turian-cli export MyGame
See the CLI page for every command.
Build from source
Building the engine itself is covered in the Development section.
